Known for her award-winning watermedia paintings that record her impressions of the Maya women in Guatemala’s colorful marketplaces, Jan’s paintings are pictorial tapestries layering observations and imagination, design elements, abstract motifs, and personal symbols. A graduate of Syracuse University with an MFA, Jan works full time as a professional artist, teacher, and juror. Her work has been juried into numerous important national and international exhibitions including the American Watercolor Society 2013, 2012, 2011 (and their Travel Show).
